About Dystonia & the DMRF
Dystonia is a neurological movement disorder — the third most common after Parkinson's Disease and essential tremor — that causes involuntary muscle contractions, leading to repetitive movements and abnormal postures. These symptoms can affect daily functioning, and are often painful and disabling. Dystonia affects people of all backgrounds and stages of life. A feeling of isolation is common, which is why events like the Ride for Dystonia are so important to our community.
